Dear Readers,

For those of you who miss my patient case studies, forgive me.  I will be back to my regular format next month.  This information is too important and, for some people, it may be lifesaving.  In last month’s article, we discussed the H1N1 vaccine, its safety profile (or lack thereof), the possibility of mandatory vaccination and some of the things you could do to optimize your immune system.  It has been a very turbulent month considering the controversy over healthcare and the continuing recession.  I don’t think it is an overstatement to say that people are frightened about government spending, rising unemployment and fears of a “pandemic.”  It’s time for a little empowerment. Let’s continue our discussion on the H1N1 vaccine.

Clinical trials are ongoing at this time to determine the efficacy and appropriate dose of the H1N1 vaccine to cause the development of antibodies to the H1N1 virus. If you go to the website www.clinicaltrials.gov (and type H1N1 in the blank labeled: Search Terms), a list of the active, recruiting and completed studies are listed.  On the day I wrote this article, there were 59 studies listed for the H1N1 virus/vaccine. Of the current, active studies of the H1N1 vaccine, none of them are scheduled to be completed before April 2010.  Are they expecting the American public to roll up their sleeves for untried vaccine?  How can they make a decision on the safety before all the data is in?

I ask that question, but is there any doubt what the results of the studies will recommend?  On August 15, 2009, the FDA approved vaccines made by the following companies:  CSL Limited, MedImmune LLC, Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics Limited and Sanofi Pasteur. All four firms manufacture the H1N1 vaccines using the same processes. It is important to appreciate that this vaccine has been fast-tracked, meaning that many of the usual safety precautions used to prevent contamination of the vaccines will be overlooked by the regulatory agencies. 1  The government insists that the H1N1 vaccine is undergoing the same testing as the seasonal flu vaccine. But haven’t they told us that the H1N1 virus is different, with the potential to cause illness and loss of life on a grand scale?  Approval by the FDA does not make this vaccine safe.

Many of the current, active studies are using forms of the vaccine that are non-adjuvanted.  That is to say they do not contain squalene, MF-59, AS03 or AS04.  Adjuvants are extremely important when discussing vaccines. An adjuvant is a substance that is added to the vaccine to improve the immune response. Squalene has been shown to induce hyperimmune responses and has been associated with the development of autoimmune disorders.  The government does have a history of saying one thing and doing another. During the 1976 swine flu vaccine disaster, they tested one vaccine and then gave a different one during the mass vaccinations. Over 500 people developed Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS).

1.       A letter from the Health Protection Agency (the official body that oversees public health in England) written on July 29, 2009, was sent to British neurologists warning them to be alert for possible development of GBS which could be triggered by the vaccine.

2.       I do not know if the vaccine being used in the clinical studies contains thimerosal, but we do know that the vaccine they plan to use on the general public will. Despite the known toxicity of mercury, the government continues to dismiss concerns regarding the addition of thimerosal to the vaccines.  On July 30, 2009, US Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius confirmed that the Swine Flu (H1N1) vaccine will contain the mercury based preservative thimerosal.

I wish I could give you some “warm fuzzies” showing the government has your best interests at heart. The truth is that our government has Big Pharma at heart. It has been reported that there have been behind the scene, closed door agreements with the large pharmaceutical companies regarding the current healthcare issue. The drug industry's chief lobbyist, PhRMA President W.J. Tauzin said an unwritten agreement was reached with Democratic Sen. Max Baucus of Montana, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, and was closely monitored and "blessed" by the White House.   Under the deal, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, or PhRMA, agreed to provide $80 billion in cost savings over 10 years. It also promised to promote healthcare reform in a multimillion-dollar ad campaign. In return, the White House agreed to consider the $80 billion as a cap on PhRMA's costs in the overhaul legislation. In addition, it has been reported that the White House agreed not to require rebates on sales of commonly prescribed drugs to patients enrolled jointly in Medicaid and Medicare.3   It has also been reported that the industry asked the government not to allow the import of generic drugs “because of safety issues.”  Right... Didn’t I say no warm fuzzies?

So what are your options? If you do not want to take the vaccine or you do not want your children vaccinated, here is some information you need to know.  You can get a waiver to decline the vaccination for you and your children.4   Many states allow for personal belief waivers, more allow for religious waivers.  Two states allow for medical waivers only.

States which allow waivers for personal beliefs: WA, CA, ID, UT, CO, AZ, NM, TX, OK, AR, ND, MN, WI, LA, MI, OH,  ME, VT

States which allow waivers for religious beliefs:  AK, HI, MT, WY, NV, SD, NE, KS, IA, MO, IL, IN, KY, TN, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, VA, MD, DE, NJ, CT, RI, MA, NY, NH, OR, DC, PA

States which allow medical waivers only: MS, WV

You can go to the website www.nvic.org, click on Vaccine Laws. Under Vaccine Laws, click on State Vaccine Requirements   A map will come up with the fifty states.   Click on the state and the specific state immunization laws/codes will be listed as well as the types of waivers that are allowed.

If you live in a state where personal belief waivers or religious waivers are allowed, it is much easier.  A medical waiver requires a physician’s signature. The examples below are generic.  You need to fill in the appropriate state codes (which can be obtained from www.nvic.org) and you should personalize it with your own religious beliefs.   When writing a religious waiver, do not use any phrases such as “I don’t believe that it would safe from a medical standpoint” or "I believe that I will develop serious medical problems from taking the vaccine.”  If you bring in a medical issue, then the waiver becomes a medical waiver and requires the signature of a physician.

Here is an example of a religious waiver letter:

Date: __________________

To Whom It May Concern,

We are the parents/legal guardian’s of_____________________________.

We are exercising our right as _____________ (name of your state) citizens under ______________ (State administrative code) state law.

Then choose either paragraph A or B.  You don’t need both.

A.      We are setting forth our specific (religious/personal) objections. (Why your religious beliefs are in conflict with vaccination) Example:   It is against my deep, sincerely held religious convictions to accept the injection of any foreign substance into my body or the body of my child.  This includes, but is not limited to, any and all vaccinations, shots, tests for diseases, oral vaccines, epidermal patches and in any other way that live or killed bacteria, viruses, pathogens, germs or any other microorganisms my be introduced into or upon me or my child.

B.      Another option is to quote scripture to show how your religious belief is in conflict with vaccination. Examples:   1st Cor. 3:17, If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.  1st Cor. 6:19, Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, who you have from God, and that you are not your own? Psalms 91:11, For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways.

We are setting forth our specific religious objection based on the tenets of ____________ (the name of your religious affiliation).

Signature: _______________

Date: ________________

If the waiver is for a child, both parents should sign this document in the presence of a notary.  Some states require that you obtain an official form for the waiver which you fill out and send in.  Check your state's requirements at www.nvic.org.

Here is an example of a philosophical/personal belief waiver letter:

Date: ________________

To Whom It May Concern,

This letter is to serve as an affidavit, stating that vaccinations are contrary to what I believe is healthy for ________________ (me or child’s name).

Health and Safety Code #_______________, states that, it is my legal right to decline such vaccinations for (myself or my child.)

Thank you,

Signature: ____________________

Date: ___________

Again, you can look up the specific state codes (to fill in the blanks) at www.nvic.org.

The big concern is whether vaccination will become mandatory.  Think this could never happen?  You should ever say never. The “Pandemic Response Bill” 2028 passed by the Massachusetts State Senate on April 28, 2009 and is currently making its way through the Massachusetts state legislature. This bill would allow authorities to forcefully quarantine citizens in the event of a health emergency, compel health providers to vaccinate citizens, authorize forceful entry into private dwellings and destruction of citizen property and impose fines on citizens for noncompliance.7  Iowa public health officials have acknowledged the existence of a blank template entitled FACILITY QUARANTINE ORDER in the case of a Novel Influenza A H1N1 pandemic.8  The template can be found at www.cdc.gov.9  The quarantine order lists the Iowa Code chapters 135,139A and 641 Iowa Administrative Code chapter 1 as basis of their legal authority to quarantine. This allows a state round up of Iowa citizens who might be exposed to the swine flu virus and place them in a quarantine facility.  This is a paragraph directly from the order:

“2 (c) Your daily needs, including food, shelter, and medical care, will be provided for you during the period of quarantine at the quarantine facility. You should bring clothing, toiletries, and other personal items with you to the quarantine facility. You will have limited access to a telephone at the quarantine facility. You may bring your cell phone with you should you desire to have greater access to a means of communication. There is no stated time limitation for the quarantine on the orders.”

Some individuals are taking action.  On July 31, 2009, Tim Vawter, an attorney, filed a federal lawsuit in New Jersey opposing forced vaccinations with the federal government as a defendant.   A Preliminary Injunction to stop mandatory vaccinations was issued in the United States District Court of New Jersey.  When signed by a judge, the preliminary injunction will stop the federal government from forcing anyone in any state to take flu vaccine against their will. It will also prevent a state or local government from forcibly vaccinating anyone, and forbid any person who is not vaccinated from being denied any services or constitutional rights. It is worth your time to read.

You may be wondering, “Why is she telling me all this?”  You need to be aware.  You need to be able to protect your health and that of your family. Mandatory vaccination could be a reality if martial law is declared. I am not saying that martial law will occur.  I am saying it “could happen” as the legal groundwork is already in place. (Read my article from September 2009).

If you are forcibly vaccinated, there are some things that you can do to protect your health.  Russell Blaylock, M.D. is a nationally recognized, board-certified neurosurgeon, health practitioner, author and lecturer. He has compiled a list of things you can do to reduce the toxic effects of the H1N1 vaccine. All of these are available over the counter.  You do not need a prescription to obtain them.  I will list them here briefly but I strongly recommend that you read Dr. Blaylock’s article in full.

1.       Bring a cold pack with you and place it on the site of the injection as soon as you can.  Once home, you should continue to use the cold pack throughout the day.

2.       Take fish oil. Fish oil contains Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Studies show that if you take fish oil (EPA) one hour before injecting an adjuvant (vaccine has adjuvant), it will decrease your immune system’s response.  You should be taking a balanced fish oil (with EPA and DHA) every day.

3.       Curcumin and  quercetin are flavonoids which have been found to block the ability of adjuvants to trigger a long-term immune reaction.  Take them one hour before the vaccination.

4.       Vitamin E  (high in gamma-E will  help to dampen the immune reactions and reduces some of the inflammatory cytokines.

5.       Vitamin C is a potent anti-inflammatory (buffered form).  Take 1000mg four times a day.

6.       Astaxanthin (a carotenoid) is also an anti-inflammatory.Take 4mg per day.

7.       Zinc is protective against vaccine toxicity.  Do not use zinc mixed with copper.  Copper is a major trigger of inflammation.

During this time it would be good if you avoid all immune stimulating products such as mushroom extracts, whey protein and beta-glucan.

1.       Take a multivitamin/mineral every day.  Choose one that does not have iron.

2.       Take magnesium citrate or magnesium malate (500mg of elemental magnesium) three times a day.

3.       Vitamin D3 is very important.  Vitamin D is actually a hormone and not a vitamin. It acts as a modulator.  If you are over-reacting, it will cool down the immune response.  If you are under-reacting in the case of infection, it will boost your immune response.  After the vaccine, adults should take 20,000 units a day for two weeks then 10,000 units per day thereafter.  Children get 5000 units per day for two weeks after the vaccine and then 2000 units per day thereafter.    With this, adults should take 500-1000mg of calcium per day and children should take 250mg calcium per day.

4.       Avoid food containing mercury.  Heavy metals, such as mercury, are powerful inducers of autoimmunity.

5.       Avoid oils that can suppress the immune system and increase inflammation such as peanut, corn, canola, soybean, safflower and sunflower oils.

6.       Drink concentrated white tea at least four times a day. Parsley and celery are potent in inhibiting autoimmune diseases. Parsley contains the flavonoid apigenin and celery contains the flavonoid luteolin.  Dr. Blaylock recommends that you pop them in the blender and drink 8 ounces of this mixture daily.

Do as many of the above as you can if you should be forcibly vaccinated.

I would recommend that everyone begin a “prevention program.”  It is always easier to prevent disease than to treat it.  There are some things that you can do to protect against the H1N1 virus, seasonal flu and other infectious diseases. The best way is to support your immune system.

I mentioned them in last month’s article but it is worth repeating:

1.       Get adequate amounts of rest.  Irregular sleeping patterns, inadequate sleep all cause stress on your body and can adversely affect your immune system.

2.       Maintain a healthy diet. You need to limit your intake of refined sugar such as candy, cakes, donuts, etc.  You should also stay away from artificial sweeteners such as saccharin, aspartame and splenda.  Eat plenty of green and purple vegetables. The majority of your diet should be vegetables and fruits.  Avoid peanuts and corn which are foods that tend to be highly contaminated with fungus and fungal by-products (mycotoxins).  Almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews, etc. are good substitutes for peanuts.

3.       Regular exercise.  You don’t have to be a marathon runner.  Walking is good.  Do what you can. If you cannot walk, arm exercises are good.

4.       Make sure you are getting adequate amounts of Vitamin D3. A good starting dose would be vitamin D3. Take 5000 units per day until you can have your doctor or health care provider check your 25 hydroxy-vitamin D3 levels. Recommended levels are 70-100.

5.       Take 4000-6000mg of vitamin C daily.

6.        Take 25mg zinc citrate daily

7.        Take 50mcg selenium daily

8.        I would start on an iodine supplement such as iodoral 12.5mg tablets. Take 3 tablets per day.

9.       Take daily probiotics.

If you think that you have been exposed to swine flu or are showing signs of swine flu, there are some things that you can do:

1.       Increase your dose of Vitamin D3 to 50,000 units a day for 3 days.

2.       Increase your dose of Vitamin C.  Take 1000-2000mg every 3-4 hours.  When your intestinal tract has reached its limit with regards to absorption of Vitamin C, you will usually have a loose bowel movement.  Just decrease the dose of vitamin C or increase the time interval between doses.   Drink plenty of water.

3.       Increase zinc citrate to 50mg daily

4.       Increase selenium to 200mcg a day for 3-4 days

5.       Make sure you are on a source of iodine such as iodoral. Take 3 tablets of Iodoral 12.mg daily.

My goal has been to present to you what I believe is the most important information for your health and that of your family.  I encourage you to go to these websites and stay informed.
