I am having so much fun writing for this newsletter. In case you were wondering, I get to choose what I will write about. This month I wasn't sure what my topic would be. Then three people came into the clinic over a span of two days with basically the same problem, but varying in the severity. I don't believe in coincidences. I love what I do and one of the reasons is the fodder supplied by seemingly "sound" science. At least once weekly, I find myself at my computer grinning ear to ear as the medical community makes an honest attempt at hitting the hockey puck with a baseball bat. I'll probably never understand why there are such odd twists and turns before the research is completed or the diagnosis is made. As is so often the case, the conclusion is correct, but the "sound" science leading to that conclusion seems as far off to me as Wayne Gretzky standing in Dodger Stadium!

I'm a recovering allergy sufferer.

Every year as long as I can remember, when spring arrived, so did the sneezing and the itchy eyes. I played baseball my whole life, and was so excited to get out to the field each year. But I also knew that to survive out there in the Oklahoma dust and wind, I'd need to pack some kind of antihistamine with me.
