I love this time of year. Since I’m not a huge fan of cold weather, I make the best of it by getting in the holiday spirit by early October.

When I used to be sick all of the time, I never thought twice about the fact that I was “destined” to be ill during the winter. Even though I was prone to allergies during the spring and summer months, I had a particularly rough time from October until March. You may be the same way.

Guy Evans just sent me an email about the spice curry curing cancer. Of course, we reported this many years ago (curcumin, a component in curry), but Guy’s email really made me think that, in advancing science today, we are more accurately advancing nutrition! The sad part is, they want to make curry a drug, so they can profit from what Guy has had in his fine products all along! Absolutely nothing shocks me anymore with regards to scientific “breakthroughs.” Dr Jennings’ Ms. November is another in her fascinating updates on the value of thinking “antifungal.” How I wish every doctor was this advanced, but we have to remember that 60 years ago (in my lifetime!), 4 out of 5 doctors smoked Camels! In another 60 years, 4 out of 5 doctors will use antifungals! Let’s see, I’ll be 120, but Methuselah made it! Dr. Jennings also gives thanks in her great article!

Mark Twain once said, “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” Sadly, Mark, the exaggeration legacy lives on, at least in science, and it has now become an epidemic.

The very core of medicine is crumbling, and I am smiling, because following closely behind this failed system may come a kinder and gentler healthcare system. I’m not particularly smiling for those who fail to acknowledge how important it is to take good care of their health, because they may continue to require our current mediocre medical system, procedures and pills. To that end, ignorant patients are absolute gold to the very system that now questions their own procedures and pills. To those of you whom I meet at every lecture throughout the USA, congratulations! You have taken back the responsibility of your health and your ship has come in.
